The Ribbon Lab is a creative exploration of ribbon in needlepoint — from lush silk ribbons and dimensional florals to texture-rich techniques that bring canvases to life. This class focuses on learning how ribbon behaves, how to control it, and how to use it in ways that feel artistic rather than intimidating.

Students will experiment with ribbon types, stitches, shaping, and layering techniques while building their Ribbon Lab Notebook, a lasting reference filled with techniques and inspiration. The Ribbon Lab is for those stitchers who have wanted needlepoint with more movement, softness and drama.

• WHAT TO EXPECT: Unlike a traditional project class, Lab classes focus on teaching techniques and thread behavior rather than completing a specific canvas. Students leave with new technical skills, a stitched reference sampler, and a professionally produced Lab Notebook that serves as a lasting reference. Lab Notebooks include a beautifully produced guide filled with technique instruction, charts, and reference materials, plus space to mount your own stitched samples.
