ALL CLASSES INCLUDE FULL FINISHING KITS.  ALL CLASSES STRICTLY LIMITED TO 8 STUDENTS.  EACH CLASS REQUIRES YOU TO BRING YOUR OWN COMPLETED STITCHED ORNAMENT (appropriate for that class).  A LARGE SELECTION OF FABRICS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE ON DAY OF CLASS. LUNCH IS INCLUDED WHEN SIGNING UP FOR BOTH CLASSES ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, AND WORKSHOP DAY. Due to the large interest we expect to sell out of our sessions quickly.  Check your calendars carefully before you make your reservations, as they are non refundable. PAYMENT IN FULL IS REQUIRED TO HOLD YOUR RESERVATION.

• BEGINNING SIMPLE ORNAMENTS           3.5 HRS                                $150  
  No more waiting for your finishing to come back when you can take control and do it yourself! Round flat cookie ornaments are simple to manage. Under the expert guidance of Kelly Starke, a national teacher who has a professional finishing workshop in Massachusetts, you’ll learn how easy it can be to make your own ornaments along with its twist cording. Imagine stitching a small canvas during the week and being able to give it as a gift the next weekend.  Learn all the fundamentals of finishing a flat cookie style ornament which can be applied to your other finishing in the future, like coaster inserts, signs and larger pieces.  You’ll receive 3.5 hrs. instruction, all materials needed, a list of equipment so you can duplicate the supplies at home, access to online videos so you can be guided when working alone. The kit includes everything needed to make your ornament except the fabric you’ll need for the back.  We will have a large selection for purchase on day of class or bring your own 8” x10”  piece. You’ll choose your own cording colors on site which is also included as part of your kit.

• ADVANCED SHAPE ORNAMENTS                         3.5 HRS                   $165
  PREREQUISITE: Previous Beginning Ornament Class with Kelly.  Please bring your own completed stitched advanced shaped ornament - Heart, Oval, Triangle, etc. Please confirm other irregular shapes, extra rows needed and size limits.

  Advanced shapes include hearts, Simple stars, Candy Canes, Bells, and Ovals.  These often end up slightly less symmetrical after stitching.  You’ll learn how to straighten them out into symmetrical shapes, cut custom core inserts and manage the points and dips and curves for results as perfect as possible.  You’ll receive 4 hrs. of expert instruction, a list of equipment so you can duplicate the supplies at home, access to online videos to you can be guided when working alone and all materials needed to make your flat cookie style ornament, except the fabric you’ll need for the back.  We will have a large selection to choose from for purchase on day of class or bring your own 8” x10” piece. You’ll choose your own cording on site which is also included. Take both Beginning & Advanced Combination on Saturday and we’ll serve a light lunch in between.

• SIMPLE STAND UPS                  8/16                  3.5 HRS                         $165 PREREQUISITE: Advanced Shapes or permission from Kelly. Please bring your won completed small standup canvas (no larger than 8 inches tall) and double check that the shape and size will be appropriate. 

  This is NEXT LEVEL finishing! Take the mystery out of fabricating a small standup and avoid the long waits for your future gifts and décor. You'll need to have a stitched small canvas that's appropriate for a small standup ornament. We'll be making a cording as well for a perfect finish. The kit will include everything needed to make your standup and cording except the fabric you'll need for the back. We will have a large selection to choose from for purchase on day of class, or bring your own 9" x 12" piece. A light lunch will be served for this signing up for both Sunday Classes.

• WORKSHOP DAY             8/17      7 HRS          $100 + MATERIAL KITS ($25 -$30)
  PREREQUISITE: You must have attended a Kelly class to participate.  If you’ve taken her Beginner, Advanced or Standup class here at The Splendid Stitch, past or present, or one of her classes elsewhere at another shop (Kelly will verify), you will qualify to attend. 

  This is NOT a class but an opportunity to practice and reinforce your Finishing skills as you put them to use with Kelly’s professional equipment on site, all with a bit of expert supervision. Make as many ornaments or standups as you like during our workshop day.  We will provide a light healthy lunch for everyone attending.  We will have material kits available for purchase that will include the things needed to make ornaments and standups, a choice of finishing fabric and choice of 2 color cording to make one item per kit. Purchase as many as you need.
